“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.” ~Proverbs 12:15
Have you ever heard those type of people that preach at you? This people group tell you that what they believe is golden, correct and the only way of thinking. They interpret the Bible with their own meaning behind it or believe whatever they have been told by others. Raised “religious” their whole lives, they read the Bible regularly, pray and go to church without a changed heart. They are stuck in their tunnel vision view of the Bible.
Christ was an outside-of-the-box type thinker. A man could not see, Jesus make mud to smear in the man’s eye and his sight returned. Now an inside-the-box thinker would have done things very differently. They may have given him medicine, washed his eyes out or told him “tough dude I don’t know what to tell you.” Not Christ, he rubbed mud in the guy’s eyes.
Tunnel vision people even go as far as to say “that church is not a believing church because they listen to contemporary worship, speak in tongues, allow gay people in their congregation, have a female pastor, read from an NIV Bible.”
Their tunnel vision has led them to believe wrong.
Why did church get so stuffy? When did church become so judgmental? Why are churches kicking people out because they were not doing what everyone else is doing? What caused church people to stop loving people?
We are to lift others up in Christ, not condemn them to Hell. Last time I checked none of us are God so that is not in our job descriptions. If a sin is a sin, what about our sin of being judgmental, close-minded, gossips, unloving and hypocritical.
Christ’s entire ministry was based on LOVE.
Follow His example and love those people that we do not think fit into our molds. Hate the sin and not the sinner. Separate the sin from the creation of God. The Great Physician, Himself, said He spent time with the sick. The healthy do not need His immediate attention. Instead of being so narrow-minded in our beliefs, we should love at all times. Pick up the Bible and devour it, research it and dig out the true meanings of His teaching.
A wise man listens to advice. Understand that you are not always right, no matter how long you have gone to church!
